VIMN Promotes Mark Kingston To SVP, Nickelodeon And Viacom Consumer Products

Based in London, Mark Kingston has been upped to SVP at NVCP, where he'll oversee all of Viacom’s CP business outside of the US.

Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) has announced that Mark Kingston has been promoted to Senior Vice President (SVP) at Nickelodeon and Viacom Consumer Products (NVCP), where he will oversee the company’s consumer products business, promotions and marketing efforts outside of the US across retail, operations and licensing.

Based in London, Kingston will report to Pam Kaufman, Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) at Nickelodeon and president of Nickelodeon Consumer Products, who last year took over global responsibility for Nickelodeon’s billion-dollar consumer products business. Kingston will replace Ron Johnson, who has left the company.

“Mark’s knowledge of the international licensing landscape is second to none,” commented Pam Kaufman. “During his tenure, Mark has significantly expanded our EMEA consumer products business, while also identifying and building new international opportunities and relationships, and developing overarching region specific CP strategies.”

Kingston, whose previous roles focused on managing operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), first joined Viacom in 2011 as Vice President (VP) of European licensing, retail sales and trade marketing. Prior to working at Nickelodeon, Kingston held various roles at The Walt Disney Company and BBC Worldwide, having started his career at Mars UK.

Earlier this month, Nickelodeon International and Viacom Consumer Products inked a global, multi-property merchandise agreement with Saban Brands Israel-owned Wise Toys. The deal–which excludes US territories–will see Wise Toys release a range of Nickelodeon-branded smart toy lines, including plush smartphone and tablet protector Wise Pet, as well as an augmented reality activity box set. Nickelodeon has also agreed an international licensing deal with merchandising company SAMBRO, who will launch a range of Slime-related products - including the Nickelodeon Slime Hyper Blaster - to appeal to the 3+ market, on the shelf and through selected online retailers in the UK from April 2018.
